A research scientist by original training Alister now specialises in scenario planning, futures thinking and strategic change management and is an experienced facilitator of strategic processes.

The following lists some illustrative projects on which he has worked;

Scenario Planning and Futures Thinking

  • member of the design team and senior facilitator in DTI's futurefocus@dti facility;
  • joint facilitator of Scenarios for Africa workshop for DfID;
  • scenario development for Glasgow's education sector;
  • scenario development for the energy sector
  • review and evaluation of Scottish Enterprise's scenario planning and scanning processes;
  • facilitation of scenario planning exercise to inform the development of Glasgow and Clyde Valley Joint Structure Plan;
